But everyone acts like it's a crime to use third party scripts... there's nothing wrong with that.

Sure it's wrong to lie, but everyone is accusing him of stealing members (epic fail) and they act like it's super wrong to use third party scripts. Even though they use them to..

Dude, quit defending Pete. You get mad at Sam whenever he cusses. Well, Pete was cussing at Sam, too! So shut up already.

And yeah, he did steal them. He went on Cloudica and spammed with posts advertising Thirdie.

He's PM'ing Cloudica's members telling them to leave. WHAT THE HECK?

"Even though they use them to.."

I have a MyBB forum, and a WordPress blog. But did I claim to code WordPress or MyBB? NO.

He didn't spam, I saw about 4 posts of his with links. Spread out over a day.

I'll admit that's going waaaaaaay to far, pete, you don't have to/shouldn't go that far. He didn't hack your site if you really said that.

He lied, he said he wanted to impress people. Sure it was wrong.. but I've seen plenty of posts bashing him "sam built the site from scratch but you fail because you used a cms" that's what I meant

Nope, there were a lot more than that, and for weeks. EVERY POST contained the name "Thirdie".

Well, to tell you the truth: it will fail. Do you think Facebook used a script? Heck no. Twitter? No. CLOUDICA? No. Tumblr? No. Google Buzz? No. What about Bebo, even? Nope.

Yeah, but social networks are different. A social network is not the same as a tutorial blog...

No, but the general idea is what counts. They used a CMS.

Plus I've seen Webs (social network) sites with 20,000+ members.

I highly doubt thirdie will fail, no matter what social network they use.

20,000+? If they want to compete with sites like Twitter and Facebook, they're gonna need a lot more than that. Like, millions.

That's not really a social network, it's a forum about Samsung Firmwares... Thirdie is a social network EXACTLY like Twitter.

So it's not exactly a social site, my point still stands, it doesn't matter what the CMS is.. or the type of site, that determins if it's popular or not.. it's having good content and a good community. Thirdie has both.

And it's not exactly like twitter.. Cloudica looks more like twitter then Thirdie does :P

Not Loca, and you know it.

Dude, it IS true. No one cares about "content" on a social network; social networks are meant for people to connect with friends/family.

Yes, Loco is way different, but since it's not even out yet, I oviously meant the current version :P

And I wasn't just talking about social sites, should have made that more clear, but all kinds of sites.

Nope. If your friends are on it and it's works well, you'll use the site. BUT- if it's exactly like another site that MORE of your friends are already on, you won't use it.
